Families

Parenthood presents a myriad of challenges, leaving families uncertain about where to turn for support. Many families find themselves facing worries, concerns, or even desperation about their child’s well-being.

At Foundation Mental Health, the team understands the complexities of family life. They recognize that being a parent comes with its joys and triumphs, but it also brings its fair share of worries and uncertainties. That’s why they’re here—to walk alongside families, offering support, guidance, and the tools they need to navigate through these challenges with resilience and strength.

Families are not alone

Facing difficulties in raising children is a common experience for many families. Every parent experiences moments of doubt, worry, and frustration. Whether families are struggling with their child’s behaviour, navigating through periods of transition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the demands of modern parenting, they are not alone. At Foundation Mental Health, the team is there to offer a compassionate ear, a supportive shoulder, and new ways of thinking to help families reframe obstacles and then thrive.

Empowering children for future success

Parents want what’s best for their children. They aim to equip them with the skills and resilience they need to face life’s challenges with confidence and grace but it is not always easy. That’s why Foundation Mental Health offers mental health resilience coaching—a gift that goes beyond the latest gadgets or fashion trends. This powerful type of coaching empowers children to develop the inner strength, emotional intelligence, and coping strategies that they need to navigate through life’s inevitable ups and downs. It’s an investment in their future well-being and success—an investment that will pay dividends for years to come.

The tools utilised by Foundation Mental Health are grounded in a versatile programme that can be customised to address the unique needs of each family. Foundation Mental Health employs a variety of approaches that allow individuals, groups, or the whole family to gain insight into the workings of their minds. This programme guides participants through a series of engaging, interactive, and thought-provoking sessions crafted to help individuals uncover their innate resilience and mental well-being.

How we work with families

Every family is different and so the programme structure is designed to create the best fit for everyone taking part. A combination of the ‘Iheart Resilience Programme’ and ‘Resilent Living’ course are blended to create a course that is perfect for your family. It is best delivered in your home, face-to-face but online is a good alternative. Sessions usually last 60 minutes and the course can range from 5 to 10 in total. Each member of the family will receive a handbook as a useful guide to help consolidate the learning. The course will be run by one of our faciliators and is very flexible in approach. We will work with you to make the best fit, whether that is 1:1 with your child/children and / or working with your family. It is important that you feel part of the process. Hence no one size fits all.

Every family is unique and so together with you, we will create a bespoke package that is designed to meet the needs of all the members of your family. We use a combined approach incorporating both the ‘Iheart Resilience Programme’ and the ‘Resilient Living’ Course. There is no one size fits all.

Proactive support for a brighter tomorrow

At Foundation Mental Health, our commitment to support extends beyond mere reaction to problems; we believe in proactively addressing issues before they escalate. That’s why we offer a range of proactive programmes and workshops tailored to equip families with essential skills to help each family member thrive. From managing stress and anxiety to navigating negative emotions and anger, our approach provides a safe space for families to engage with these potentially challenging topics openly. Through our guidance, families not only confront these issues but also emerge empowered to flourish. Together, families can build a future where every member feels supported, every child feels empowered, and every parent feels confident in their ability to nurture resilient, thriving children.

The sessions were delivered passionately, with reference to personal examples which really helped the class see their relevance throughout different stages of life. It was clear that it was an approach that the leaders were passionate about with help the children to be invested.

Many other external programmes that promote similar offers are run by providers simply doing a job, rather than being truly invested in what they are teaching.

iheart does not attempt to be a miracle cure for anxiety, daily worries etc but explains the mind in terms of realistic, lifelong expectations – it’s not a quick fix. It uses language appropriate to the age of the children, but tackles more mature themes in readiness for High School.
